H. E. Services knows how to throw a celebration, especially when marking an incredible milestone – 50 years in business. Chairman, Hugh Edeleanu, ensured the occasion was nothing short of spectacular.
A Half-Century of Dedication
The festivities took place at the Mercure Maidstone Great Danes Hotel in Kent. Where friends and staff came together for a night filled with revelry, sumptuous dining, and dancing. All in honour of H. E. Services’ fantastic 50-year journey.
In 1972, he embarked on this remarkable journey, starting as a small plant hire operation. Today, H. E. Services has blossomed into a network of nationwide depots boasting an impressive arsenal of over 3500 plant items.
Engineering Excellence
But the expansion didn’t stop there. Hugh’s engineering skills birthed Masterhitch, an engineering company known for the creation of buckets and attachments.
The journey continued with the inclusion of The Finishing Touch, EVision Electric Vehicles, BuyADigger, Diggerland Plant Training School, and, of course, Diggerland. Inspired by children’s fascination with diggers, Diggerland offers an adventure park where both children and adults can operate diggers and dumpers for fun.
A Record-Breaking Leader
As if that wasn’t enough, Hugh is a record holder. In 1997, he set a World Record for the fastest journey in a JCB from John O’Groats to Lands End, not once but twice. Slashing an impressive 11 hours off his previous record.
To Another 50 Years
Chairman Hugh Edeleanu set the celebratory tone with a speech, sharing the rich and diverse history of H. E. Services. He expressed gratitude to the many past and present staff and friends who have played a vital role in the company’s journey, with his trademark humor to ignite the party.
So let’s raise our glasses and toast to another 50 years of H. E. Services. With the company’s history of embracing new business adventures, who knows what the future holds for this remarkable journey.
