Manitou Steps Into Robotics – What This Means for H. E. Services and Our Customers

At H. E. Services, we’re passionate about staying ahead of the curve. Our customers rely on us not just for top-quality plant hire, but for access to the very best and most advanced equipment available. That’s why we’ve always valued our close relationship with Manitou, a brand known for innovation in material handling.

Now, Manitou has taken a bold step into the future, and we couldn’t be more excited about what it means for us and for you.

Manitou and the Rise of Robotics

Manitou Group has officially entered the robotics space with the acquisition of the robotics division of Sitia, a French engineering firm known for its expertise in test bench technology. But this move is about much more than lab equipment.

The team joining Manitou includes seven highly skilled engineers – the same experts who created Trektor, an autonomous agricultural tractor robot that’s already proving how robotics can revolutionise heavy-duty work. Along with the team comes a library of intellectual property, forming the foundation of a newly launched division: Manitou Group Robotics.

This new division will work alongside Manitou’s research and development department, combining cutting-edge robotics knowledge with decades of material handling experience. According to Manitou’s Vice President of R&D, Julien Waechter, this partnership is about accelerating innovation and meeting the evolving needs of customers in smarter, more effective ways.

What This Means for Our Customers

At H. E. Services, we see this as more than just exciting news – it’s a glimpse into where the industry is heading. We already trust Manitou’s machines to deliver performance and reliability across our fleet, and the introduction of robotics into their design process opens the door to a new generation of smarter equipment.

Robotics in plant and material handling machinery brings a whole host of benefits. From enhanced safety and precision to improved site efficiency and reduced downtime, the possibilities are enormous. As these technologies develop, we’ll be ready to bring them straight to our customers, ensuring you can take full advantage of the latest advancements.
