On Sunday 2nd February 2014 viewers saw a spectacular first episode of ‘Top Gear’ on BBC 2. The episode aimed to enhance the belief that hot hatch motors were better back in the day! To help prove this Jeremy Clarkson along with his fellow ‘Top Gear’ presenter used a machine from H.E. SERVICES Cardiff Depot to put 3 old hot hatches through their paces. The machine in question was a Komatsu PC130-8 fitted with a high rotation brick flail. The machines also featured a special edition paint job turning the standard Komatsu yellow construction excavator into a fully fledged Police ‘TGPD’ seek and destroy machine.
The show, which also featured Jeremy Clarkson operating the machine, was a big hit amongst fans of the show as well as fans of H.E. SERVICES’.
